10 Features We Want to See in the iPhone 14

The iPhone has been a game-changing device since it launched 10 years ago, and Apple keeps coming up with new features that keep the iPhone relevant. The latest version of the iPhone is the iPhone X, which came out this past September. It’s another big step forward for Apple and its smartphone, with new features like an edge-to-edge display, FaceID authentication, and augmented reality apps. However, there are still some things that could be improved upon in future iterations of the iPhone. Here are 10 features we want to see in the next generation of iPhones.
Face ID and Animoji Improvements
Face ID on the iPhone X is a great biometric authentication system, but it could be even better. The current system doesn’t work while the phone is laying flat on a table, and it isn’t secure enough for use in sensitive work environments. Face ID could also be improved with more facial recognition software that would help it recognize people regardless of appearance. A more advanced version of the iPhone X’s Animoji feature would be great as well. The current version of Animoji only works with the iPhone X’s TrueDepth camera and it isn’t as detailed as one might hope. With a more advanced version of Animoji, users could create more detailed, expressive avatars and use them for AR games and apps.
Wireless Charging & Water-Resistance
If Apple is really committed to wireless charging, the next iPhone should offer wireless charging out of the box. Currently, the iPhone X supports wireless charging, but only when using an optional charging accessory. Some rumors have suggested that Apple plans to include wireless charging in the next iPhone, while others have said that it’s not in the cards. We’ll just have to wait and see what new iPhones bring in 2019. If you are going to have a water-resistant iPhone, it would be great to see the feature extended to all models. Currently, only the iPhone X is rated as water-resistant, which is odd given that most other iPhones are fully capable of withstanding water damage.
A Dark Mode
An iPhone Dark Mode feature would make it easier to use the phone in darkened settings, such as when lying in bed with the lights off, or in a movie theater. A Dark Mode would also save battery life, which is always a plus. Some people have suggested that the TrueDepth camera’s specialized sensors and lenses are what’s preventing Apple from rolling out a Dark Mode feature, but we doubt that’s the case. Some iPhone users also wish that Apple would extend a Dark Mode feature to Apple’s other apps and services.
A New iPhone Model
We can’t wait to see what new iPhones come out. We’ve been waiting since the original iPhone X was announced, but with the new feature, it makes it all the more exciting..
Higher Resolution Display & HDR Video
Higher resolution displays are always nice and we would love to see it happen in future iPhones. For now, only the iPhone X and the latest iPad Pros have wide color gamut (WCG) HDR displays. Higher resolution displays, combined with HDR, would definitely be a welcome addition to future iPhones.
A New Apple Music App
Apple Music is a great app, but it’s not the best music player. It’s been criticized for missing some important features, like having an option to listen to an album in a different language. We’d like to see Apple implement that feature.
Better Touch ID
Touch ID has been a big hit with iPhone users and it could be one of the most used features on future iPhones. Touch ID has also proven to be one of the most popular features in iOS. We hope we can see more improvements with Touch ID on future iPhones.
A Better FaceTime Video Call Screening System & Improved Photos Performance
We’d love to see the iPhone X finally get FaceTime, but it hasn’t been available for months now and there are still many months before FaceTime is available for all users. A new face-time app would allow us to use FaceTime on our iPhones and make calls while using FaceTime (or even using Siri). There are also other apps that would allow us access to our friends or family members without having to type much into Siri or FaceTime, such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger (if you use WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger). A new face-time app would also make it easier for us to use some of the new selfie apps that have been coming out recently, such as Instagram and Snapchat Stories. Another feature we wish was added is better video call screen.
Improved Touch-Screen Accuracy
Touch-screen accuracy is important for any smartphone, but it’s especially important for devices where typing on the screen is a core feature. For example, with the iPhone’s virtual assistant, Siri. A recent study found that the iPhone X’s touch-screen was less accurate than the touch-screens on a few Android devices, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the device. A future iPhone could improve on the iPhone X’s touch-screen accuracy, especially if it includes a new type of touch-screen technology.
Superior Smartphone Experience
The iPhone X is a brilliant piece of hardware, but it’s not perfect. It’s not designed for everything, and it doesn’t have all the features that would make it the best smartphone on the market. In fact, many people don’t even know that the iPhone X is available. Apple created a new generation of phones that are much better than previous generations – smartphones with so much more features and functionality than their predecessors. The iPhone X has some great new features:
A new OLED screen used for FaceTime video chat (iPhone X) A new S Pen stylus with an improved stylus tip (iPhone X) A revamped dual-core processor (iPhone X) Improved camera sensor (iPhone X) A higher-quality camera sensor (iPhone 8 Plus) Improved battery life (iPhone 8 Plus) More storage space (iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and iPad Air 2) Stunning design and a 5.8-inch OLED display (iPad Pro) Apple Pay support in multiple languages in 2018 – including Chinese, French, Italian, German, Japanese and Norwegian(!) iOS 12 includes iCloud Photo Library – making iCloud storage accessible to other apps using iCloud rather than having to install them manually in each app We have been waiting for years for an upgrade to our trusty phones from our trusted brand name – this is it!
Using Siri on Your iPhone or iPad? You can use Siri on
iOS/ iPhone Based Virtual Assistants
Virtual assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa have become increasingly useful, and they have even started showing up on smart speakers and other devices. iPhones are some of the most popular devices in the world, so it would make sense for Apple to offer some sort of virtual assistant functionality. Apple has been integrating its virtual assistant, Siri, into its products for years, but it’s never been much more than a novelty. With the rise of voice assistants, and the inclusion of Siri in the iPhone X, it seems like the company is starting to take the technology seriously. We’ve seen some hints that Apple is working on an iPhone-based virtual assistant. Rumors suggest that the company has been working on an AI-powered digital helper called “Siri 2.0”.
Siri Improvements: Voice Identification, Shortcut Creation, More Languages
Siri has a lot of potential, but it’s still not quite a fully-realized virtual assistant. Apple has been working to improve Siri over the years, but we think it should take things a step further with the next generation of iPhones. We’d love to see Siri’s functionality expanded to let users identify who is calling. This feature is currently available on some Android devices, and it’s extremely helpful if you don’t recognize a number. We’d also love to see Siri gain more functionality and be able to perform more tasks. Right now, Siri can do a few things and it’s not very customizable. We think that Apple could add more features and let users choose what Siri can do. Siri is currently only available in English and a few other languages, but it would make sense for Apple to add more languages in the future.
Better Battery Life With Fast Charging
Battery life is always the top complaint about smartphones and we wish that we could have longer-lasting batteries, but that’s not realistic. Some people would like to see batteries with longer life, but others would like to see faster charging. The iPhone X supports fast charging, which is definitely an improvement, but it would be cool to see even faster charging in the next iPhone.
Improved Mobile Security and Privacy With Touch ID And Face ID
Both Apple and Samsung have been providing great security features for the iPhone X, but it’s easy to miss when you read about what other companies are doing. Apple has taken a lot of the functions from Android and added them to the iPhone X, but there’s still a lot more that needs to be done to make the phone better. We hope that Apple will be able to improve on security in future generations of iPhones, as well as provide users with a more secure experience while using their phone.
Better Battery Life With Fast Charging and Better Smart Screen Display
The iPhone X has many things going for it, including an incredible camera sensor and fast charging. It’s also a better display than previous iPhones, which is great news for anyone who uses their phone with their laptop or computer screen. The iPhone X should also improve battery life with fast charging. We hope that Apple will start offering this feature in future generations of iPhones, as we think it would be a great addition to the device.
Summing up
The iPhone has come a long way since it was first introduced 10 years ago. It’s crazy to think that smartphones have been around for a decade, let alone that they’ve changed so much in that time. We’ve seen tons of new iPhone features over the years, and we have a few more things that we’d like to see come to the next generation of iPhones. We’d love to see a more advanced version of the iPhone X’s Face ID, a Dark Mode, updated sensors in the device’s camera, an increase in battery life, and faster charging.
